The Role:

Mission

As Financial Planner in Súper, you will be in charge of producing Super’s un-audited financial statements, and work with key stakeholders across the business ensuring they have access to high-quality financial information to enable better decision making, all whilst gaining exposure to the different tasks and stages of financial accounting and commercial finance cycle. This is a highly empowered position, and we expect the successful individual to roll up their sleeves and get involved in all aspects of the finance function. As a lean start-up, this role also involves hands-on execution of core payments and expenses.

Objectives

1) Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements both at subsidiary and consolidated levels

  • Use state-of-the-art apps and tools to easily produce statements and analysis through our highly integrated ledger platform

2) Produce financial analysis to enable better decision-making by utilizing high-quality financial information and processes

  • Design reports to different stakeholders, including top management and the Board of Directors

3) Interact with external accountants and auditors to assure the quality of financial, fiscal, and accounting information

  • Review the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage/coordinate regular closing activities such as journal entries, account reconciliations, operating expenses, financial review, and flux analysis
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations

4) Drive process improvement and design of automation procedures

  • Drive financial excellence through the use of metrics and continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Implement or enhance processes to further streamline and enable more accurate and timely reporting.

5) Ad Hoc projects as they arise, we are a start-up after all!

Competencies

Job competencies

1) Trained accountant (knowledge in insurance accounting would be great)

  • Min 1-2 years of basic accounting experience
  • Loves analyzing data to guide decision making
  • Strong understanding of US and MX accounting principles

2) Deep understanding of the accounting function and systems

3) Strong mathematical and accounting problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage large data sets, prepare reports and summaries
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

8) Willing to start with simple tasks and gradually grow into a management role

  • This position will eventually lead part of the entire finance team.

Pay

We pay tip-top of the market for Mexico and are competitive everywhere if you’re in another market.
